2016 Range Rover Autobiography – Body Styles Changes and other Options
The exterior design is similar to that of the outgoing Autobiography except for a few visual upgrades. The biggest upgrade is the new two-tone color finish. The upper part of the Range Rover is finished in Santorini Black color will be offered with a choice of 9 colors. The two parts are separated by a body line that stretches from the headlights all the way to the taillights and cuts through the door handles. Another new feature is the exclusive “Range Rover” lettering on its hood and tailgate. The vehicle also features 4 exhaust tips finished in chrome which hints at the powerful engine hidden under the hood. The rear is fitted with a foot-activated rear tailgate with sensors placed at the corners of the bumper. This allows an operator to stand curbside rather than directly behind the vehicle when opening the tailgate.
The interior of the 2016 Range Rover Autobiography is breathtaking. In fact, it can put to shame some models out there claiming to offer luxurious cabins. Almost all the surfaces of the cabin are covered with high quality leather. The cabin also features real wood and aluminum accents which make the cabin look very exquisite. The dashboard itself is wrapped in aluminum accents. The rear compartment is also very luxurious. It features two captain chairs wrapped in premium leather. Both the front and rear seats are heated and ventilated. They also have a massaging function and power-folding footrests. For entertainment and enhanced connectivity, two built-in ipads swing up from the center console for each chair. For more entertainment, the rear also features 2 screens mounted on the rear headrests of the front seats. There is also a beverage cooler for extra convenience. The 2017 Autobiography just like other Range Rover models has received high resolution cameras that enhance the vehicle’s Surround Camera system. Other features include a foot-activated rear hatch and an automatic Access Height feature which lowers the vehicle by two inches when it is in Park or when the driver’s seatbelt is unbuckled.
2016 Range Rover Autobiography – Engine and Performance
There are 4 engine options for the 2016 Range Rover Autobiography. The standard engine is a supercharged 5.0-liter, V8 engine which is capable of producing 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. This engine is combined with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission system that channels power to all wheels. This system also features paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The engine powers the car to accelerate to 60 mph from standstill in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph. There will be three more engine choices. The first option is a 3.0-liter diesel engine which is rated at 254 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 Range Rover Autobiography will also be offered with a hybrid diesel drive-train. This drive-train will produce 335 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The final engine is a 4.4-liter, diesel V8 engine capable of producing 335 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. All the engines will be paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission system just like the 5.0-liter, V8.
