2017 Ford Focus RS – Exterior and Interior Redesign
The front grille of the 2017 Ford Focus RS is large and trapezoid shaped, this is meant to get as much air as possible to the intercooler inside. A front splitter that stretches downwards and bi-xenon headlights flank the sides of the grille. There is a small bumper at the front which houses vertical fog lights and two large air vents sit on each side of the bumper. The wheel arches have been widened to support 19-inch alloy wheels which will be exclusive to this model, Michelin Pilot Sport tires will be fitted. On the rear, the design is defined by the huge aerodynamic diffuser that reduces drag and enhances the downforce, there are twin exhaust pipes on each side of the diffuser. The roof spoiler, front spoiler, and a lower diffuser work together to give the 2017 Ford Focus RS zero lift.
The interior of the 2017 Ford Focus RS is meant to accommodate 5 passengers and is filled with many race car features and multiple RS badges. There are Recaro sports seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel that has been quickened to make two turns lock to lock. Customers from the Asian and European markets will have an option of choosing RS Recaro shell seats that are wrapped in microfiber fabric panels. Also fitted are alloy pedals, a shifter with matching graphics and an instrument cluster on the console to show oil temperature and pressure; all these features make the 2017 Ford Focus RS a sports car meant for the streets and highways. An 8-inch touch screen with SYNC connectivity offers control over satellite navigation, climate control voice commands, audio systems and smartphone connectivity.
