The prototype for the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has apparently been seen. The legendary SUV 4×4 that first broke into the automotive scene in 1963, updated and replaced by the Grand Cherokee in 1993, will be charged with a hell-raising Hellcat Engine, as it goes up against some stiff competition. Mike Manley, CEO of Jeep, confirmed the suspicion in January of this year, also revealing that the new model will arrive in showcases in late 2017.
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee – External Body Parts and Inner Cosmetic Changes
The exterior of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be nice: stylish and luxurious. Expect cosmetic changes to the front end, nothing major, but with enhancements to the grill, lights, and front end. The grill will draw in more air to cool the Hellcat while encasing the HID headlights in more panache. The wheelbase is also anticipated to have more sophistication, lending strength to its historic efficiency.
Well-appointed, comfortable, and roomy describe the likely Interior of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Built to accommodate the entire family, the Jeep interior will provide ample space due to its long wheelbase, with lots of room for suitcases and travel gear, and with smooth, natural cowhide seat covers. On the tech side of Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018, there is little doubt but that the dash control board will add bells and whistles, with upgraded data and information systems. The sound will sparkle from Harman Kardon’s system, with a meaner four-wheel drive system to handle the Hellcat’s off-the-line torque, and the Brembo brake system integrated to stop you.
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee – Main Power Production Unit
Two engine options are forecasted for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, one standard and one for the enthusiasts. The standard model will drive with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, embracing 290 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. Hold your hat for option two. Under the hood, it will boast the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 model previously contained in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat series, powering in with 707 hp and 650 pound-feet of torque. Some writers have claimed, alternatively, that it will ride with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, presenting with 360 hp and 390 pound-feet of torque. Only time will tell which is offered. ]
Regardless of the engine, a new 8-speed automatic transmission will deliver the latest in tech, impact the gear ratios, engine temperature, and other iterations. Importantly the 2018 Grand Cherokee will consume 10% less fuel, depending on the engine, of course, and will engage a towing power of 8000 more pounds than previously. The V6 engine will hit 50 mph in 10 seconds. A lighter body will enable the Hellcat model to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph her 3.0 seconds.
2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee – Expected Date of Arrival and Price
Prices for 2018 are not yet in. According to the Kelly Blue Book, Jeep’s cheapest 2017 Grand Cherokee, the Laredo, 2-Wheel Drive, weighs in at $31,290 SRP with standard options, while the SRT with standard options tops out at $67,790. Expect bumps on pricing in 2018 to reflect the bigger Hellcat engine, if nothing else, but a general price range of $32,000 to $68,000, but with the Trackhawk model reaching $80,000. No formal first date for the release of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been set. However, it is estimated that the new model will be introduced in early 2017, arriving in showrooms toward the end of the year.
