The Mazda has launched their plans of releasing Mazda Koeru concept. This car is going to replace the original Mazda CX-7 existed in the market between 2006 and 2012. The Japanese manufacturer showcased their new concept at Frankfurt Auto Show. The Mazda CX-7 has discontinued three years ago. The main reason behind the introduction of Koeru is that the company lacked a platform for building a new model of CX7. However, the new concept looks more like a preview of its predecessor and carry forward the previous shape. Adopting Mazda’s Kodo design language, the Mazda Koeru Concept looks elegant, offering a perfect balance between conventional appearance and sporty outlook. Consumers should expect brilliant upgrades including better powertrain performance.
Mazda Koeru Concept – Exterior Body Styles and Interior Changes
The Mazda Koeru’s exterior showcases an advancement in the Kodo design. The model comes with new dimensions of about 181.3 inches long, 74.8 inches width, and a height of 59.1 inches. It features a wheelbase of about 106.3 inches and it ditches the previous 22 inch extremely flared wheels. Expect sloped roof and hot-hatch designing. The body is designed using a combination of strong and lightweight materials to enhance its aerodynamic performance. The Mazda Koeru Concept features a compact crossover platform though it is quite lower than a normal crossover. Mazda’s trademark heptagonal front grille appears at the car’s front end center top. This gives it a more aggressive appearance and it appears sportier, with smooth lines all over its body. The front end also features slimmer LED headlights and muscular front fenders. The rear end also appears sporty with LED indicators and double exhaust system.
Inside the new Mazda Koeru Concept, consumers should expect comfortable and luxurious cabin featuring the latest infotainment system. The car will be capable of accommodating up to 7 adult passengers and the spacious interior cabin features sufficient headroom and legroom. It will adopt quality leather material upholstering on the seats to enhance comfort. The manufacturer is going to install Mazda’s Head-Up Cockpit car-connectivity system. Other standard equipment includes a premium sound system with satellite radio, Bluetooth phone, and radio integration and USB port interface. You will enjoy quieter rides, thanks to Mazda’s NVH technology which is responsible for noise reduction inside the car. The system minimizes vibration. Safety will be provided by Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE package which combines lane departure warning system, intelligent cruise control, rear collision alert system and others.
Mazda Koeru Concept – Modification under the Hood
Powering Koeru is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of delivering up to about 185 horsepower at 184 lb-ft of torque. This is the standard powertrain that will feature under the hood for this car concept. Engine performance will be boosted using SkyActiv technology and carbon emission is also expected to be minimized. Power will be sent to either standard front wheel drive system or all-wheel drive (AWD) via a standard 6-spee manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission. There is still no clear information on the car’s acceleration and top speed though it is expected to deliver brilliant figures on the same.

The Mazda has not yet provided the official enouncement on the pricing and release date for their new Koeru. However, consumers are anticipating that the Mazda Koeru Concept will hit the roads at the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2017. It will be priced starting from around $27,000.
