The 1990s marked the beginning of the Subaru outback, making it’s entrance into the market as a wagon. Throughout the years it has changed from the iconic wagon, which is still on the road to a much more sporty model and finally the mix between luxury, power, and comfort.
The 2018 Outback does this perfectly with some new features, along with a complete redesign to keep the car fresh and visually appealing to all car consumers.
Subaru Outback 2018 – Exterior Body Changes and Interior Cabin Design
The Subaru Outback 2018 has a very sleek exterior and although still retains a sporty look, it definitely screams luxury. The exterior looks can be compared to the likes of BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.
Being a crossover the Subaru Outback 2018 can be used by one person or an entire family still allowing comfort and room for each passenger. Entering the cabin of the Subaru Outback 2018 is an experience of its own. Most wouldn’t expect such a clean, sleek and technological advanced interior.
The multimedia system is up to date, to say the least with a full touchscreen, GPS, and an integrated app. It offers users and passengers all the features needed and wanted by any car consumer. The only downside of the Subaru Outback 2018 multimedia system is the touchscreen which collects dust and fingerprints quite often.
The ample space is not the only reason for this crossovers great comfort, the soft touch door handles, tiltable headrest, cushioned seats and armrest can make the driving experience more comfortable than the couch. The backseat passengers also experience the luxurious comfort of the Outback 2018 with reclining cushioned seat backs.
Although this car is luxurious it is a Subaru which means it is inherently sporty. The cargo room offers an impressive 73 cubic feet to play with, which is a great example of the versatility of the new model.
They’re are also some great features which just seem essential after using them such as rear seat fold down lever in the trunk, a deep center console, and phone storage to keep your phone in sight and out of your hand. All in all the interior and exterior car design of the Subaru Outback 2018 are more than enough for crossover drivers.
Subaru Outback 2018 – Modification under the Hood
There are two versions of the new model when it comes to performance the flat 4 engine base. And the flat 6 engine base, both are equipped with a CVT transmission. The new Outback 2018 flat 4 engine base produces 175 hp with 174 lb-ft of torque.
The flat 6 engine base produces 256 hp 247 lb-ft of torque. Each engine base has its pros and cons starting with the flat 4, it has decent fuel economy for a larger crossover getting over 30 highway and mid 20’s city. The downside of this engine base is the lack of power it has a hard time accelerating. Making it up hills many drive it with the padel shifters to try and avoid these problems.
The flat 6 doesn’t lack anything in power, but the fuel economy is worse. The Subaru Outback 2018 AWD system is great for off roading which all Subaru Outbacks should be able to do luxurious or not.
